DAY 1: LIMA ARRIVAL
A View Peru staff member will be waiting for your arrival at the Lima airport, from the airport you will be transferred with your private vehicle to the luxury hotel of your choice. Any questions you have will be answered and you will be briefed on your itinerary by your assistant. You have the evening to relax in your hotel to prepare yourself for the exciting tour ahead.
DAY 2: LIMA – CUSCO (B, L, D)
After breakfast in Lima, you will be transported by your private assistant and vehicle to the airport to catch your one hour and a half domestic flight to Cusco. Upon arrival in Cusco you will be picked up and brought to your luxury hotel in the historic center of the city, where local fresh flowers, chocolate, and fruits will be waiting for you. After the opportunity to rest for a bit, you will be taken on a walking tour of the ancient capital of the Incas. The tour will include the colonial Cathedral, the Main Square, the Temple of the Sun, as well as the typical open-air San Pedro Market were you will appreciate a typical market. Tonight you will have a 5-star massage in the oxygenated Inca Tak Spa, followed by a gourmet Cusquenian dinner accompanied by a show.
DAY 3: RIVER RAFTING THE URUBAMBA RIVER (B, L, D)
You will be picked up after breakfast in your Cusco hotel to begin your adventure down the Urubamba River rapids. We raft the upper section of the Urubamba river, surrounded by gorgeous mountain scenary and with cleaner water and constant train of waves and rapids ,We drive for 1:45 minutes South East from Cusco ,,once we arrive to our launch point a safety orientation and all your rafting gear will be provided. Chuqui is the local name for the Upper section of the Urubamba river,, and depending on the season ,( May to November ) the level of dificulty can range from Introductory and intense moderate Class II to Class III+ rapids, and during the wet Season ( December to April ) exhilarating , adrenaline Class IV pumps rapids will be challenge of the day. We do cover 17km or 10.5miles for 2:15 minutes, at the end a Homemade picnic lunch will be provided. No rafting experience is required. At the end of your adventure down the river, a camp will be waiting for you with your dry clothes, warm showers, and a prepared delicious gourmet picnic. You will spend the night in the Sacred Valley at a luxurious hotel in the quiant village of Urubamba where you will enjoy a gourmet meal.

DAY 4: MOUNTAIN BIKING TO MORAY AND MORAS (B, L, D)
Be sure you enjoy the hearty breakfast provided at your hotel to give you energy for your private mountain biking adventure today. You will be picked up at your hotel around 9:00am to make the short trip to the town of Chinchero where the biking route starts. This is a quaint village that still has the layout of the Inca town that it once was, with several ancient buildings still in use. Once the guide is done briefing you on safety and the route, you will be geared up with the highest quality biking equipment and ready to go. The journey begins riding towards the Lake Huaypo where you will continue to ride until you come across the terraced amphitheater of Moray. This ancient site was used as an agricultural laboratory to bio-engineer different breeds of plants to grow at different altitudes. From here, you will continue riding until you reach the cute colonial village of Moras which will finally lead you to the amazing site of the salt pans of Maras. These amazing pans were engineered to extract salt from the salt laden spring coming from the mountain, and have been used for centuries to evaporate the water leaving only the salt in the pans. The final descent of the trip will be a short downhill ride to the village of Urubamba in the Sacred Valley where a car will be waiting to bring you back to Cusco, where you will arrive around 4:00pm. This fairly easy bike ride takes you on about 35km of gorgeous back roads and foot trails leading through rural villages and isolated areas that you wouldn’t have the chance to see any other way. Return to your luxury hotel in Urubamba where you will get a delicious dinner to replenish your body from today’s adventure, followed by a relaxing massage to prepare you for your Inca Trail trek tomorrow.
Day 5: CUSCO – INCA TRAIL – WAILLABAMBA – YUNCACHIMPA (B, L, D)
You will be picked up at your hotel, after you enjoy a delicious breakfast, at 5:30am and brought by private transport to the town of Ollantaytambo – an ancient town in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Here we will take a short break for you to get any snacks or last minute supplies before embarking on the trek. From Ollantaytambo you will be transported to Km 82 – the official beginning of the Inca Trail. Here you will meet your guides and porters who will make this journey incredibly special. Once you cross the Urubamba River (2,200m), you will have officially started your trek on the ancient steps of the Incas. The path today is very easy and is a great warm up for the challenging days to follow. Around lunch time we will arrive in Miskay where you will dine in luxury on the small river bank. Your guides will tell you about the nearby ruins of Llactapata that you will have time to visit. From lunch the trail heads towards Wayllabamba (3,100m) then climbs up to Yuncachimpa (3,300m) where you will find tonight’s luxury campsite. Here you will enjoy a buffet dinner prepared by some of the best chefs on the trail. Along with your meal you will have champagne and wine to help you relax. After dinner enjoy a relaxing massage after a cleaning yourself off with the only hot showers on the trial. Tonight you will relax in your comfortable tent amongst the tranquil mountain surroundings.
Day 6: YUNCACHIMPA – LLULLUCHAPAMPA – WARMIHUAÑUSCA PASS – PACAYMAYU – RUNKURAKAY PASS – CHAQUICOCHA (B, L, D)
Day two of the Inca Trail is accepted as the most difficult because you have to tackle Warmihuañusca (Dead Woman’s Pass). In the morning you will enjoy a hot cup of tea and a hearty breakfast before starting the hike. This leg of the trail is free hiking, meaning you should walk at your own pace that is comfortable for you – of course we will meet up for lunch and at the most challenging parts of the trial to rest. Early in the morning the trail goes through the Llullachapampa Valley (3,850m) where you will enjoy the beautiful cloud forest. After the valley you will begin the ascent, the first 3km of the 6km trail are extremely steep but you will be walking through gorgeous thick woodlands and enjoy the complete isolation of this magical area. After following the path uphill for another two or three hours you will finally come to the peak of Warmihuañusca (4,200m). We will take time to rest and to appreciate this incredible moment. From here we take the steep path down to the Pacaymayu River (Sunrise River) where you will walk towards the Runkurakay Pass (3,050m) where you will get to see more ruins. Late in the afternoon you will reach Chaquicocha (3,650m ) where you campsite is located. Relax in your luxury tent and enjoy a gourmet dinner served with champagne and wine. Again tonight you will camp in luxury being treated to massages and hot showers.
Day 7: CHAQUICOCHA – PHUYUPATAMARCA – WIÑAYHUAYNA (B, L, D)
Today is known as the most beautiful day of the trek as you will see a quick change in the environment to the thick tropical forest of Wiñayhuayna. You will come to the second pass at 3,950m where you will encounter mountain lakes. After the pass is an easy walk thorugh the forest then an Incan tunnel before reaching the third pass that will give you sweeping views of the Urubamba River Valley. You will pass the ancient site of Phuyupatamarca (The Town Above the Clouds, 3,600m) where you will see Inca baths that really show you their genius engineering. From the baths you will continue through another Inca tunnel towards the famous Wiñaywayna ruins (Forever Young, 2,650m). After these incredible ruins you will follow an Inca staircase up a zig-zagging trail to a red-roofed building that will be the last campsite. Tonight you have to option of taking hot showers (s/5) and bottled drinks are for sale. Enjoy your last night in the wilderness with your gourmet dinner, champagne, wine, and tents as well as your nightly massage and hot shower.
Day 8: WIÑAYHUAYNA – MACHU PICCHU –CUSCO (B, L, D)
Today you will wake up very early to witness the amazing sunrise over Machu Picchu. You will have your last breakfast on the trail at 4:30 am then we will hike towards the Inti Punku (Sun Gate). Once you sit and appreciate the beautiful sunrise over the lost city of the Incas, you follow the trail on your final descent to Machu Picchu (2,400m).
You will arrive to the ruins at about 8:00am (depending of yout starting time) where you will have a full private tour of the amazing Lost City of the Incas that will last around two hours. When the tour is over you will have time to explore the ruins on your own before returning down to Aguas Calientes.
Lunch Included at the Sanctuary Lodge Hotel
After the tour you will take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes to catch your luxury class Hiram Bingham train back to Cusco. On board you will recieve a full course dinner, cocktails, and entertainment.
Upon arrival back in Cusco you will be picked up at the train station and transferred back to your luxury hotel for the night.
Optionally you can stay in aguas calientes one night at an extra cost and explore machu picchu for a second time the next day. Pleae ask for more deatils.
Day 9: CUSCO – AMARU TEXTILE WORKSHOP – CUSCO (B, L, D)
After Breakfast you in private vehicle to the ancient village of Amaru, where you will recieve a textile workshop. The community will welcome you and your private guide with traditional music and flowers as a symbolic offering the Mother Earth (Pachamama). Following the ceremony, you will accompany the textile craftspeople in collecting things such as flowers from the surrounding natural area that will be used to make the dye. Next you will get a demonstration of how the wool has been dyed for centuries. Once the wool is ready, you are ready to start weaving your Andean textiles with the community members. They will teach you technique and you get a first-hand look at who the world famous Andes textiles are made by hand. Following the interactive demonstration, you will head to the community’s shop. Here is an ideal place to buy textiles because you just spent the afternoon with the people who made them, therefore you can be sure you will be supporting the local community. Following lunch in the Sacred Valley, you will be brought on a ruins tour to the four archaeological sites just outside of Cusco. This includes the ancient Inca baths thought to be a spa for the travelling elite called Tambomachay as well as the military base and administrative center of Puca Pucara. Continuing on, the tour will bring you to the rock monolith of Qenqo thought to represent a puma, and finally you will be see the fortress of Saqsayhuaman overlooking be picturesque city of Cusco. After this long day, you will be returned to your luxury Cusco hotel for dinner and a well-earned evening of relaxation.
DAY 10: CUSCO – PUNO (B, L, D)
In the morning you will be transferred to the train station to board the luxurious Andean Explorer Train to Puno. This trans-altiplano train takes you across the vast plain stretching from Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, and Chile. You will have endless opportunities for gorgeous scenic photographs and will to see alpacas and vicuñas in their natural environment. A delicious lunch will be served onboard and a stop will be made at the highest point in the journey, La Raya (4319m), so this is sure to be an enjoyable journey. Upon arrival in Puno, you will be picked up by your private vehicle and brought to your hotel on the shores of Lake Titicaca.
(NOTE: The Andean Explorer Train only runs Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, if you need to travel on another day you can take either a private car or a flight to nearby Juliaca.)
DAY 11: KAYAKING LAKE TITICACA (B, L, D)
Today you will enjoy the highest navigable lake in the world, Lake Titicaca, in the best way possible – on kayak! You will be brought to the base camp of the kayak departure, where you will be briefed on safety and instructed on how to operate these top of the line, ocean kayaks. You will begin by paddling along the Capachica Peninsula where you will observe gorgeous landscapes and isolated rural villages living off the lake. Your first stop will be at the floating reed islands of Uros where a local guide will show you how they made these islands out of reed platforms no more than 30-40cm thick! The communities moved onto the lake to avoid violent communities on the shores of Lake Titicaca. You will also get a short ride in one of the local handcrafted reed canoes that they have continued to use for centuries. From Uros, you will continue paddling to the island of Taquile where you will be greeted by locals dressed in their gorgeous traditional woven clothing. Here you will get a guided tour of the island, followed by a traditional lunch made with typical local products. From Taquile you will paddle to the exit site on the shores of the lake and be transported back to your luxury Puno hotel where you will enjoy an amazing dinner watching the sunset over the sparkling lake.
DAY 12: PUNO – JULIACA – LIMA (B)
It is recommended to rise early to have breakfast to the gorgeous sunrise over Lake Titicaca. From Puno, you will be brought to an excursion to the Sillustani towers on the shores of the sacred Lake Umayo. These towers were used to prepare the dead for the afterlife and for funeral services for many ancient civilizations until the Spanish arrived and conquered the area. Within the towers built completely out of volcanic rock, there are more than ninety tombs holding the remains of ancient elite inhabitants of the area. From here, we will continue with your private vehicle to the Juliaca airport, where you will catch your flight to Lima. Upon arrival in Lima, you have the privilege of enjoying the VIP Sumaq Lounge (Voted best in South America) where you can await for your return flight back home in luxury.
